MAHARATHI - EK SAGA

War remains one of the greatest threat looming over the world. Centuries ago, Lord shri krishna foresaw the destruction a war could bring and tried to prevent it in every single way through diplomacy, strategy, persuasion, and even strength but still failed because krishna’s consciousnesses was not accompanied by the courage of karna. The world needs krishna and karna to become one. Consciousnesses and courage must be accompanied together so that we can move towards a world founded on peace, harmony and love. Through this production, Rangmauli trust approaches the idea of preventing war not through conventional messages but with the power of theatre, using creativity and historic figurines to connect the audience not just physically but also mentally and emotionally. The objective of this play is to draw inspiration from the past, engage critically with the present and create a better future.

CHAINPUR KI DAASTAAN

“Chainpur ki daastaan” is a satirical play adapted by Ranjit kapoor from Nikolai gogol’s “Inspector general”. Its a sharp, realistic, and contemporary satire that uses humour and absurdity to expose the functioning of bureaucracy and the corruption that can emerge from different administrative systems. Through its characters and their actions, it holds up a mirror to the corrupt society.

For rangmauli’s trust, the value of production like chainpur ki daastaan lies in its ability to transform serious social concerns into an accessible theatrical experience. Our production uses satire, comedy, humour, character driven storytelling and live performance to encourage audience to recognise and question these realities themselves. In this way, rangmauli uses Theatre as a bridge between art, social awareness and community engagement.

OTHELLO

William Shakespeare’s “othello” is one of his most famous, widely performed works. At the heart of this play lies something deeply human; jealousy, insecurities, desire, suspicion, and the fear of losing what we love. Othello’s world is not simply a story of one man’s downfall, it is a reflection of how fragile human emotions can become when trust is replaced by doubt. The story explores the darkness that exists within people, the insecurity that feeds jealousy and endless desire to control what we fear losing. Yet beneath all the manipulation and deceit lies something even more powerful. That is love, vulnerability and innocence.

For rangmauli’s trust, productions such as this are an exploration of what it means to be a human. Rangmauli uses theatre to bring emotions that are often invisible in every day life onto the stage, that is, jealousy, fear, insecurity, anger, desire, betrayal, vulnerability and forgiveness. Through performance, these emotions are experienced by the actors and felt by the audience.
